After continued discussion, Bakersfield officials admitted that the only thing baked in Bakersfield, California is meth. City officials will meet next Tuesday to discuss a possible name change.

“Our city is under attack for not actually baking anything besides meth,” Mayor Ron Pook said. “Yes, Methfield is an option for a new name.”

If Bakersfield were to become Methfield, it would be the first US city to acknowledge and embrace its drug problem.  It will lead the way for other cites like Riverside, which geographically has no rivers, to become Methside or Crackside.
